Treasure Island Lingo

Okay....so you may not be familiar with pirate talk so below is a list of pirate talk we use here on Treasure Island. Your preschooler is referred to as a pirateer. The teacher in your preschooler's classroom is a First Mate. The helpers in the classroom and youth volunteers are referred to as Crew Memebers. The check-in volunteers are Deck Hands. The volunteers that greet you in the halls and run back and forth making sure the classes are stocked with supplies are referred to as our Captains on Deck. The staff members are Lieutenants....except for Janet Campen who is the director and she is the Commodore. And last but not least  YOU (the parent's) are referred to as Landlubbers.

We are gradually getting deeper and deeper into our pirate theme and in the fall all you landlubbers can expect some new piratey things in our hallways (or our Pirate Ships)!!!

Our New Pirate Ships!

As a part of our Treasure Island theme we are naming each of our hallways after ships. These are going to be your pirateers ships for as long as they are in that hallway. Here are the names of our pirate ships:

The Toddler and Baby hallway is the Discovery of the Seas.

The Two year old hallway is the Explorer of the Seas and has and additional aspect, we are putting together Castaway Island in the back of the hallway for the two year old pirateers to take pirate adventures to with their First Mate.

The Three and Four year old building is the Majesty of the Seas. Every week the pirateers go on a voyage of knowledge to the large group room where they all worship and listen to God's word together before returning to their barracks.
