  • Hillsong, Powerful Worship for a Powerful God

No doubt you've heard a Hillsong tune in any one of our Worship experiences on any Sunday but I am sure you may NOT have heard a story like this. Yesterday a group of us came together to watch and grow from a Worship Powerhouse, "Hillsong" (Songs like: Shout to the Lord, In your Freedom, Came to my rescue, Break free)and here is one of the most amazing stories of God's power, the power of faith and how music can bring all of this together when we let him work through it, in us. Imagine, music, healing, worship.......

This is a powerful worship story. Part of the ‘This Is Our God’ album from Hillsong.

I make sure the magteam in Hallandale always prays that God moves during Worship, I expect God to do something, they expect God to do something, do you expect anything when you come to Worship?

    Marc-

  • A perfect illustration of our mission statement!

I am so excited about what the Lord is doing through our Preschool Director's life here at Hallandale.  Talk about a story of someone striving for her potential!  I asked Stephanie to jot down a little about her time here at Hallandale and here is a sneak peak into the life of someone who is striving after their God-potential!

"When i was first asked to be on staff as the Preschool Director, I had only been attending church on a regular basis for about two or three months and volunteering for a little less time then that, so i was a little intimidated by the position. I decided to take the position because I really felt a calling to help the city of Hallandale and to stretch and grow a little more in my new found faith. Even after deciding that this was something I wanted to put my heart and soul into i still felt a little scared about having the title since I still considered my self a "new Christian". I thought how can I possibly make an impact in someones life when there is still so much to learn and so much work that has to be done in my own life.  In the past couple weeks I've learned that there was no need to be scared.  As I'm working with the children and helping them to take baby steps in learning about Jesus I'm taking baby steps too.  I also learned that in every service there are new believers just like me that have a chance to make life changing decisions and I get to help make sure that those people can be completely focused on what the Pastor is saying instead of worrying about their children. I learned that no matter how old you are or how far along in you're faith there are still things that people can learn from you and you can help make an impact in their life."

Partnering with people to help them reach their God-Potential.........enough said - thank you Stephanie for allowing us to partner with you and for inspiring us each week as you get out of your comfort zone!

  • What are you learning lately....

I recently asked Gloria Rodriguez, our First Impressions Coordinator what the Lord had been teaching her lately through her role at Flamingo Road and this is what she said:

"Wow- I'm just in awe at how the Lord continues to love on me. These past few weeks have taught me so much. I've learned that working in "unison" as a team is crucial, and I've been blessed with some amazing people that I am priveleged to call friends. I've been able to get "naked" (emotionally) with these friends and share how my heavenly Father is gracious with me each and every day.

I have learned that we can not do life alone; these past few weeks have confirmed that for me. I am blessed that I've learned that in the company of my ministry partners and in a place that I call home - Hallandale (or The Dale; as Pastor Marc puts it).  Thank you Hallandale for providing a place where I can do life with others in the same stage of life as me and where I can learn leadership skills through my pursuit of Him.  Surrendering.......Surrendering to God is the key that unlocks the door to the life you want!  Gloria"
Thank you Gloria for sharing and thank you for taking what we do so seriously; what we do is the difference between heaven and hell for some people and we need to be relentless or go home!
  • Hallandite Spotlight

The campus is looking sharp and running like a well-oiled machine and it is do to the Lord working in and through normal, ordinary, everyday people to do extraordinary things.  God is good and He wants to use us if we make ourselves available to be used.  Today we as a campus want to thank Michael Van Sertima, William Silvio, Alex Ramirez, Nicholis Washburn, and Dave Barcy for their work on our South wing.  These men have shown a tremendous amount of selflessness over the last few weeks and that includes them giving up their Wednesday night this week to come paint and move heavy furniture.

Thank you Dave Barcy for your leadership in the painting and for your further sacrifice on Thursday as you came back to finish the job by yourself.  It has been an honor to watch you and Renee grow in the Lord at Flamingo Road - Hallandale over the last few months.  May the Lord bless you for your selflessness and obedience to be called out for His sake.

So what made these guys do what they did?  What makes our volunteers do what they do on Sunday mornings?  Is it because they have a great relationship with campus leadership?  Is it because they get a great benefit package with their salary?  Is it because they like getting up at 6:30 on their day off?  No, our volunteers do what they do because they are addicted to being part of other people experiencing life change!  Volunteers are not volunteers at all but actually "connectors".  Every week, through serving our volunteers act as "connectors", connecting our guests to the current of Christ through the expression of Christ's love, and through a variety of tasks that come together to create an environment conducive to life change.  So to Dave and all the volunteers at Hallandale - thanks for being addicted with me- thanks for sharing the vision - thanks for living your lives with a purpose!

  • Concert last week!

Many of you who could not make it on Friday night have asked how the Michael English Concert was on Friday night and all I can say is that YOU MISSED OUT!  I heard the most powerful voice I have ever heard in my entire life and I heard a God-story that very well could be unmatched; a story of redemption, mercy, grace, and restoration!  The atmosphere was electric and the intimate group was explosive with applause as God was glorified through a man who was willing to publicly get naked, transparent, and vulnerable.  The whole room was filled with tears and the Holy Spirit moved as we all were touched by this rare example of authenticity.  As we continue in this series entitled mynakedchurch.com, may we continue to be burdened for more genuineness, more realness, and more sincerity.  God will bless us as we tell those that are looking in that we are not perfect but we are striving to be more like Him!  Isn't it amazing that we had such an incredible event right there on our campus?  How did God speak to you through this powerful concert?

  • The best wife in the world!

This blog is for the pastors wife!  Many of you had commented this weekend that you missed Holly as she had to stay home with Jack.  Jack was sick and Annie is right at a week old.  I have never been so proud of anyone in my whole life as I have been of Holly this week; childbirth is crazy!  She feels really disconnected now that she has missed this past Sunday!  We have only been here for 4 short months but because we have experienced such cool God things with you all we feel like you all are family.  Thank you all for all the cards, meals, and phone calls.  Holly is resting and gearing up for this new challenge of balancing 3 children!  Hey, I would like to invite all of you to visit her personal blog at http://hollybrown1.blogspot.com/  It has been so fun to tap into her thought life and what the Lord is doing in her life through the blog now that it is so tough for us to have adult conversation amongst 3 children under 3!  Remember, it is a federal crime to read a blog more than 3 times without commenting!  Just kidding....relax!  : )

  • nakedworshippastor.com leading the way.......

I have not blogged in a couple weeks but baby Annie is home now and we are back into a routine - sorry for the delay!  I have a lot of material now as the last few weeks have been very eventful around our home and around the Hallandale Campus.

Today I think it would be good for us to hear some nakedness from our worship pastor!  Pastor Marc recently got very transparent on our Worship team's blog and I thought you all would love to hear.  Here is the link below but I encourage you to make http://frcmagteam.wordpress.com/ one of your favorites as well.  The Magteam blog has been an encouragement to me on numerous occasions and I hope it is for you as well - Pastor Chris

  • A crazy season!

Those of you who have noticed that blogs posts have been thin lately, I do apologize!  It appears that Holly and I are in a season that is rocking our face off.  With Holly being 9 months pregnant and 2 energetic and explosive boys under 4, we are enduring the best 30 day cardio workout on the face of the planet.  We have never been so challenged to examine our time management as every second is crucial to productivity.  So as she drops me off at one store with one child and she goes to the next store with the other child we try to remind ourselves that this is but a season!

I knew this was worth a blog entry when Holly actually had our errand running mapped out the other night in a methodical way too assure the best achieved time.  She at one point told me "let's go to this store first because we will be able to turn right into this one and then there will be one less left hand turn signal to wait through as we go to the second store and we will be closer to the third store if we do that store second."  If that was hard to follow - it was for me too!  Should errand running be that crazy?  Are our lives too busy?  What about yours?  Are there things in our lives that are drowning out all our discretionary time to spend one on one with the Lord?  Any thoughts?
