My trip to TBN

Monday night, I had the privilege of being on TBN's flagship program "Praise the Lord" ... I approached the opportunity with a little apprehension because it was a different network of people than I normally roll with.

Funny how that word "different" carries so much fear with it. But WOW!... what a great experience. Steph and I have never been treated with more respect or kindness than we were that night. I truly enjoyed hearing the stories about the TBN network and how just 30 years ago it was just an idea in the minds of Paul and Jan Crouch and today....well , get this... they said that on Monday night there would be between 7-8 million people watching! There were 3 other pastors on the show with me... Pastor Darrell Hines, Pastor Alberto Delgado, and
Pastor Jim Raley...and also musician Trent Cory. It was so cool to hear what God is doing
in their lives and churches.

God is so BIG that he is doing amazing, unbelievable things in the lives of churches I'm not familiar with. It is so easy to put God in the box of your familiarity, and when we do we make God small.

Well, God grew bigger in my mind on Monday night... God has ALWAYS been big, I had just shrunk him to fit my paradigm...

After the show, the host, Pastor Rich Wilkerson and his wife Robyn, took Ricky, Vaughn, Heredes, Steph and I to dinner. Pastor Rich pastors Trinity Church in Miami... while I have never been to the church, I'm confident that it is a great church after meeting Pastor Rich and Robyn.

They were so kind to Steph and I. It was encouragement that we needed. South Florida is a great place to call home but, at times a difficult place to do ministry simply because 90-98% of the population is unchurched. All that means is it can get lonely sometimes because there are not a lot of pastors to talk to or be mentored by when you need help.

Most of you who read my blog are not pastors so let me let you in on something, pastors can be jealous and petty just like anyone else. But on Monday night, instead of one upsmenship, we all had a great conversation about what God is doing and some honest talk about where we are struggling. I know Steph and I speak for Vaughn, Heredes and Ricky when we say, "Thank you" Pastor Rich and Robyn , Trinity Church, and TBN for an outstanding evening and important reminder of how BIG GOD IS! Thank You!

I was so proud watching you on TBN. I felt honored to be part of such an awesome church with such a great Pastor. God put you on TBN for a reason. It was inspiring to see the other Pastor's so intrigued by your stories. You are so "new and fresh". I bet they learned a lot from you. So glad to be part of FRC and the Vision that we as a church have. Congrats on a great job. PS: Steph looked beautiful and looked so proud of her man!

I watched on you Monday night then again on Tuesday with hubby and son. You were awesome and if we needed to be reassured (which by the way we DID NOT) we again realized that you Pastor Troy Rock!!!! You have such a way of getting the message across. It feels like you are talking and teaching me rather than standing and preaching at me! We love that you do that!!

You were great on TBN Pastor Troy. I really loved when Pastor Rich mentioned he asked a bunch of Pastors to get together and they asked if Troy was coming to count them in. You influence so many. Soo proud of FRC. If anyone missed it you can see it on the TBN website, i logged on last night and saw it again. 7-8 million people watching...woohoo!

Your performance on TBN is the reason I speak about FRC with so much pride. Two things stuck out to me during show. 1) While all the other Pastor's spoke as if they were teaching a sermon, you were just yourself and spoke from the heart. 2) That jacket! Man, that's one sharp jacket!.

Troy and Steph, what a great opportunity for you guys! Both those churches are great ones. pastor Delgado has one of the most influencial churches in the Latino community. I've had the privilege of doing radio with his wife. Very pretty people.
FYI. Jorge and I always pray for peers for you guys. people who can be there for you with the wisdom, trust, and love you guys need. I know God will always have someone for you so you are never lonely. He who gives much, will also receive much.

BIG hug!
