Thoughts (pt.2)...

A few very random thoughts before heading to bed...

-Our family had a GREAT trip to New York!  We got some much needed rest, relaxation & family time...and we definitely enjoyed the COLD weather...even got to see snow a couple of days we were there :)  I love New York at Christmas time!!!!  But I do have to admit...putting layers & layers of clothes on before going outside started out fun, but by the last day WASN'T so much fun anymore :)  Baylee told me on our way home that she was definitely a Florida girl, and was ready to get home to the warm weather... And the boys couldn't wait to get back to their gym shorts & t-shirts :)  But, we all agreed that it was one of our best vacations ever.

-I still haven't taken down my Christmas decorations...we got back from NY late Sat. night and I have been consumed with unpacking & laundry :)  So, I'm wondering...is it a bad thing to just leave them up all year?  I'm really tempted to...I LOVE  putting up all the decorations, but I HATE taking them all down...we were the first ones in our whole neighborhood to put up the decorations & we will definitely be the last ones to take them down.  Oh well, it is what it is, right?

-I am SO ready to get back to my gym...while we were in NY, we went to the gym at the hotel, but it was so frustrating cause the ellipticals were always taken...no matter what time of day!  Don't they know that is "my" machine?????  Guess I'm a creature of habit :)

-Man, our wknd. services/concert this past wknd. was AMAZING!!!!! I watched it online @ the Internet Campus...and all I can say is, I hope you didn't miss it!  God has blessed Flamingo in a HUGE way with all the talented musicians we have...and of course, the BEST Pastor in the world :)  I'm so proud of our team of staff & volunteers!  They are the Best!  I can't wait to see what God does at Flamingo in 2009! ...steph

Just so you know...in Hialeah people typically leave their lights on the entire year because before you know it, it's time to put them back up again. I think the culture is rubbing off on the Gramlings...I definitely agree that it was an awesome service/concert this weekend...great way to kick-off 2009! Welcome back to Sunny South Florida.

I'm with you on the concert. It was totally awesome. I'm with you on our Church and Pastor, too. We are so blessed. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Don't worry about the Christmas decorations - you're in South Florida and isn't there a Latin 3 Kings celebration that lasts after Christmas and New Year's? Welcome back, Vicki

Excellent post Steph. Made me smile and feel good about what we do at Flamingo. It's great to have you guys back! But I'm sorry to tell you - yes, the Christmas decorations have to be put away for another 11 months (ok, maybe 10 months). Like I tell my son, if we left them up all year we wouldn't appreciate them as much as we do at Christmas time....

I love your post Steph. You know it is so funny that the same pic you took, my mom has a pic like that when I was 10yrs old standing next to those angels with her. that pic brought back some awesome memories of New York and the great times I had with my mom at that same wonderful, and cheerful place (Rocker fella Center). And by the way I am 32 today and it still leaves me breathless. I love you guys very much. Thanks Pastor Troy for me, because of him and God my family and I attend Saw grass. God Bless and welcome home. Happy New Year. There will be so many BREAKTHROUGHS this year its going to be awesome. :O) Love, Tito and Iris Ramos
